Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Leaks Out

November 6, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens Leaked

Here is the first leaked photo of the upcoming Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens, which should see in the very near future as a replacement to its 16-year-old 100-400mm L lens predecessor.

The design appears very similar to the recent 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM lens from Canon. Given that an image of the lens has leaked out, I expect that we see an official announcement within the next few days.

Given my original trepidation of the push-pull mechanism on my 100-400mm I must say after just a few usages at sporting events I was sold. I find it incredibly quick to use and think I would miss it. At least for sports.
