Ricoh has announced the new Pentax K-S2 DSLR with a 20.1MP APS-C sensor and 4K interval video capture. It features several advanced features but maintains an entry-level price point.
The K-S2 continues the Pentax tradition of built-in image stabilization inside the body. It also features weather sealing even with the vari-angle LCD. The 1/6000s max shutter bests a few Canon and Nikon DSLRs with much higher price points (e.g., the Nikon D750).
It also includes WiFi and NFC connectivity for remote control by iOS or Android devices.

The Pentax K-S2 body retails for $699.95. A kit option with the new 18-50mm lens retails for $799.95, while a two-lens kit with the 18-50mm and 50-200mm lenses retails for $899.95. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
As mentioned, a new 18-50mm kit lens launched alongside the K-S2. It is a retractable design that provides for a compact kit when stowed away. Of course, it is a little slow for a kit lens with the f/4 max aperture at 18mm. However, it does offer a weather resistant design to complement the Pentax K-S2.
While available as a kit upgrade on the Pentax K-S2 for a $100 price bump, it retails for $299.95 alone. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
Finally, Pentax completes the trifecta with a new weather-resistant hot-shoe flash – the Pentax AF201FG. It offers a Guide Number of 66′ at ISO 100 and 19mm, and has a recycle time of 4-7 seconds. It’s not the fastest or most powerful flash around, but it is a compact design and offers tilting head from -10° to 135° for bouncing light around.
The Pentax AF201FG retails for an affordable $149.95. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
