Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L II in the Works?

March 11, 2015 By Eric Reagan

New rumors suggest that an update to the popular Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM could be getting an update soon. The update is rumored to include a floating element like the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM and solve the focus shift problem from the current generation that is reported by some.

The new 50mm lens is expected to arrive after a new Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L lens ships this year. So, it could be late 2015 or into 2016 before the new 50mm f/1.2L lens actually ships.

I own the Mark one which I bought when it came out about 7/8 years ago. When I put another lens on I want to put this back on. There’s a lot of talk about shooting wide open (Being over used) but the flexibility and quality is 10/10 for this lens.
