Canon Australia released the above video showing Georges Antoni’s twilight shoot for a billboard image with the Canon 5Ds R as a promo piece for the new 50MP DSLRs.

Sorry Canon I made the switch a year ago. MFT is my answer. It is more cost effective to keep a customer than to attract a new customer. Canon you were late to the party and you did not listen to your customers.

Ridiculous promo piece from Canon! All this actors, 007 sound and etc.. to do that piece of mediocre Billboard!! I did better with an old 10 mix camera. This ad is a tremendous fake illusion. When you do photos to be used in a billboard for instance, you definitely don’t need 300dpi at real final size of the image ( everybody that works with this kind of ad know that ). There are other ways to exalt the megapixels and the high iSO capabilities of that camera. And sorry Canon, in this field you arrive too late, Nikon did 3 years ago, ( with and without the antialias filter ) and they solved this filter this dilemma with the secod generation D810, with also more hight ISO capabilities.
The Promo film – – It SUCKS, the whole Promo idea clip, It Pitiful,Did not shown of the camera Who cares about the way it was shot or wasting footage of a top secret level meeting, It seems that the group as they were listening in the way how it was going to plan the shoot has forgotten the fundamentals, and the shooting techniques when this shooter forgot when shooting it ON FILM! “Oh I have the Secret Weapon” What is it World Peas? I’m Sorry but it did not sell me, OK, Look I get excited when I see a National Geographic special, and there they tell you how it was done, Old School with digital OK, If they photograph a model, that it is the same in lighting techniques, what film to use aka remember Kodachrome? how we all remember to to a test on the emulsion batch, and also composite image techniques, and placing the model on strings, and then CGI it, that it not a photograph it is stage effect-thats cheating, and your not a shooter, your a showman. And also testing a new camera on the job, I thought that when getting a new toy that you put it tests before the main project. And if your going to brag about the camera, then your not a shooter, just a bragger.. That’s why I still shoot film, and yes I do have a DSLR my camera is only 12megapixel it is fine with me, and I used old Nikkor Manual Focus Lenses from the 1960’s due to of the contrast, and sharpness, and I do not need large Megapixel in the hundreds to photograph a sunset. Do you need that? Not to mention the battery consumption power that your going to see. Extra Batteries, and make sure that they are CANON – Canon not counterfeit Canon battery, and charger. Be proud what you got. enjoy photographing do not be a bragger So in ending the Promo Film I gave it a “D-” I redo this promo film again showing the camera, in what it does, and this clip reminded me of Dr Strangelove, Hey they will see the whole board, in this case Hey they will see the Whole Camera Case that saids CANON.
