Joby has unveiled a new, ultra-portable jib kit for GoPro cameras and other action cameras. The Action Jib Kit is available with or without poles and can be fitted to any kind of lightweight pole (like a painter’s extension pole).
The Action Jib Kit features a pulley system that you can control from the base of the pole to change the angle of the GoPro camera at the end of the jib. You can even mount a smartphone at the base of the jib to monitor your framing using a GorillaPod Arm and GripTight Mount.
From the looks of it, you just place the base of the pole into your hip crease as an anchor point and then move the lightweight jib pole (total weight is 23.5 ounces without camera) up and down with one arm while the other operates the jib head. Panning movements look as simple as rotating your hips.
