Just after this bride and groom took their first few steps as husband and wife, their wedding photographer fell in the lake. I can’t help but feel sorry for this lady and really all involved.
The “Oh NO!” scream she utters as she knew what was coming is just painful. There are so many things to fear in that instance, the least of which is yourself getting wet. The damage to the camera and digital images you’ve already captured that day is certainly a concern. And, of course, as a wedding photographer, you want the day to be as little as possible about you and more about the bride, groom and their family and friends. All of that goes out the window when an accident like this happens.
I think we officially have a new top video for wedding photographer falls. The previous king of the hill being this poor photographer who took a trip into a water fountain (also during the recessional).

Being a professional photographer that shoots lots of lakeside weddings because of where I live, this is always a concern. I would have expected the couple to shout out to the photographer to watch out before it happened but understandable that mentally they would be in their own place.
The memory cards in the cameras can pretty much go through a clothes washing machine and still be usable, so images on camera would be fine. If camera is weather sealed, it is possible it may be OK as well. That is why we shoot with at least 2 cameras, to have a backup. So if this photographer was properly prepared, this should only be a few minute set back (be upset … then laugh at it .. then get the other body out of the bag … and keep going).
I’m not sure she is the offical photographer hire by the couple or just attendree, it yes, she should have proper dressing, not wearing a flip folk and a causal low cut dress half of her breast drop out.
Friend just posted on fb that she fell into the ocean with her camera yesterday……….
