It’s been over two years since the Canon 70D was introduced. I can’t believe it’s been that long, but the 70D was introduced in July 2013. It was the first of the new range of higher MP cameras (up from the long line of 18MP cameras in Canon’s APS-C range – including Rebels).
Canon Rumors has received tips suggesting the Canon EOS 80D will feature 28-34MP and possibly announced in late 2015. So, we could see that camera coming anytime in the next couple of months or so.
It could very well be announced alongside a new EF-S 15-55mm f/2.8-4 IS STM kit lens and an EF-S 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 superzoom lens, which we’ve recently seen patents for.
If the Canon 80D is, in fact, due out in the next couple months or so, expect the rumors to pick up with greater specificity over the next few weeks.
Stay tuned.
