YouTuber ThePapadumGeek just posted a hands-on review of the new RØDE VideoMicro and compares is to the built-in camera mic as well as the VideoMic Pro and NTG-2. Check it out below.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DoXoY2O1SI&w=700&showinfo=0&rel=0]As he points out, there are no batteries or on-switch for this mic. If it’s plugged in, you are recording audio. This is a simple and basic mic in a much smaller package than what we saw with the RØDE VideoMic GO from a couple years ago.
For a $59 mic, it sounds great. If you record video at all with your camera, you officially have no excuse for crappy audio in your videos. You can find the RØDE VideoMicro here at B&H Photo.

Not bad for the price. I did a video project last week, was rushed during setup, and forgot to turn on the mic on one camera. Fortunately I used a Zoom recorder in addition, and it completely saved me!
