Canon has released a new pocket camera to the dying class of cameras that are being shunned in favor of cell phones. As pocket cameras go, the Canon PowerShot SX730 HS might actually have a reason or two for living alongside your cell phone.

- 20.3MP 1/2.3″ CMOS Sensor
- DIGIC 6 Image Processor

- ISO 3200, Up to 5.9 fps Shooting
- Zoom Framing Assist
- Story Highlights and Self Portrait Mode
While most of the features in the SX730 HS existed in the SX720 HS, the old model still made a compelling case as a supplement to your cell phone. The new SX730 HS adds a 180° tilting LCD display to go along with the new Self-Portait and Smooth Skin mode. When paired with the built-in WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth tech, the SX730 HS makes capturing shareable, higher quality selfies a better option than the front facing camera of your phone.
The SX730 HS also carries over the 1080/60p video capture from the SX720 HS. The 40x optical zoom range offers a 24-960mm equivalent zoom range – definitely something your cell phone can’t do. Geotag and Date Stamp options are also available.
The Canon PowerShot SX730 HS retails for $399.99 and will ship in June 2017. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
