In the last rumor update on the Canon 6D Mark II, I was hoping that the 6D Mark II would come in at or below the $2100 price point of the original Canon 6D. New credible info from Canon Rumors reveals that the retail price will be $1,999 when it is officially unveiled next week!
While the 6D Mark II doesn’t look like it has the whiz-bang video features of the 5D Mark IV, it looks like it has some serious chops as a still image shooter. It’s rumored to be a full frame DSLR with a 26MP sensor with a 45-point AF system with all cross-type points.
Of course, the 1080/60p video capture on the full frame sensor is going to do well enough, it’s not quite cutting edge as a 2017 HDSLR. With the updated AF, high-res full frame sensor and sub-$2,000 price, it looks like a well-timed and welcome photography tool at a substantially-discounted price from the state-of-the-art 5D Mark IV.
We should know everything for certain next week on the 6D Mark II’s expected announcement date of June 29.
Stay tuned.
