Photography at the Inauguration

January 20, 2009 By Eric Reagan

A couple interesting photography notes from the Inauguration today:

Mashable has a nice piece on the coming of age of Microsoft’s Photosynth, as it was featured on CNN.

Additionally, Stephen Shankland over at Cnet has shows off satellite images of the Capitol Building and the crowd of onlookers.

I know there is a ton of other photography-related snippets in and around the Inauguration (man, I hate typing that word – it’s hard), but I found these two particularly noteworthy.  It’s always interesting for me to see how photography help makes the world go round.

Have you seen anything else related to photography that sticks out from the crowd?

Were you at the Inauguration?  Care to share some links to your photos in the comments, or put’em up in the forum?

Digital Camera Review has published a review of the Pentax K2000.

I expected the camera to perform better than the *ist DL but fall short of the K10D. Sure enough, the K2000 performed almost exactly as expected. In short, this is one amazing little camera.

January 19, 2009 By Eric Reagan

Wired has posted a quick review of the ColorRight white balance tool.

Results in the field are fantastic; we had no issue with balancing various hues up perfectly. And though it may sound a bit complicated to work through, it’s not – once you nail the process it takes mere seconds to dial the right color balance.

January 19, 2009 By Eric Reagan

DC Resource has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix P6000.

The Coolpix P6000 also gets mixed reviews in terms of photo quality. Overall, exposure was accurate, though the P6000 and it’s tiny CCD tended to clip highlights here and there.
