Samyang Introduces Full Frame Lenses for Sony E-Mount
New Sony A7 and A7R owners can rejoice. Samyang has introduced five new full-frame lenses for Sony E-mount, including:
- Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC
- Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS IF UMC
- Samyang T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC
- Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC
- Samyang 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC
So far, only the 14mm f/2.8 lens is available for pre-order. Expect the others to follow soon.
With the warm reception we’ve seen from the Sony A7 and A7R, expect the third-party lens lineup to continue to grow for the Sony E-mount. Also, while these lenses were clearly released in response to the A7 and A7R, they are also compatible with the Sony APS-C E-mount cameras.

Sony A7R Image Quality on Par with Nikon D800/D800E
I remain very impressed with the Sony A7 and A7R full frame mirrorless cameras. Now that DxO Mark results are out, it looks there’s good reason to buy into the hype of these new cameras. Nikon Df Officially Unveiled; Pays Homage to Nikon F Series Film Cameras
After the Pure Photography teaser videos fully played out, Nikon has officially take wraps off of the new Nikon Df, which is a straight-up still photography camera packing the D4’s 16.2MP FX format sensor.
Along with the new Df, Nikon has also launched the new AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Special Edition lens. The Nikon Df retails for $2749.95 for the body only and $2999.95 for the Nikon Df and new 50mm f/1.8G Special Edition lens.

The new Sony A7 and A7R cameras had people fumbling over each other to get to the cameras at PhotoPlus 2013. As a refresher, the Sony A7 and A7R are Sony’s first full frame mirrorless cameras featuring 24.3MP and 36.4MP sensors, respectively. Nikon Teases New Retro Camera: “It’s In My Hands Again”
Nikon just dropped a new video that looks like it is teasing the upcoming retro-inspired full frame camera. As you can see and hear in the above video, the “Pure Photography” short shows a man wondering a bleak landscape with camera in hand. The distinctive clicks of the camera and the single frame in which the top of the camera just barely appears before the cut to a wider shot tease what’s coming in the next several days/weeks.
