DrPic Offers Fast Photo-Editing

September 16, 2008 By Thursday Bram

Editing photos in your web browser usually require Flash, Java or some other heavy-duty plug-in. But DrPic is an online image editor entirely based on Javascript. With DrPic, you can open an image and make your edits in less time than it takes a Flash-based site to finish loading.

DrPic is a free tool and, although it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some photo-editing applications, it does have the most useful. If you simply need to make a few quick edits, DrPic is a great option — no application to load or software to open. It won’t replace other photo-editing options, but DrPic can be a useful tool.

Canon Teaser Updated, Getting Old Now

September 16, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Canon has updated it’s teaser for the 5D Mark II yet again. Nothing groundbreaking, just a little more light and now you can make out the word “Canon” for sure on the new camera.

In an almost interesting point, the Japanese version of the teaser appears to be revealing a “5” behind the camera. Here’s the series of images from the Japanese teaser:

Phase 1

Phase 2

Phase 3

Phase 4

And here’s the final image with levels lifted a bit to show off what we think is the “5” and additional features that Canon hasn’t colored over on the camera itself.

Do you think 5 phases of this teaser will be enough for the Canon 5D Mark II?

Are you bored, excited or simply indifferent with regard to Canon’s teaser?

Casio EX-FH20 Reviews

PhotographyBLOG

Photographically speaking, there’s nothing that exceptional about the Casio. However if you’re a YouTube junkie and as keen on video as you are shooting stills, and being able to capture slow motion footage as well as widescreen vistas floats your boat, then the Casio EXILIM Pro EX-FH20 is worth further investigation.

Digital Camera Info

The Casio Exilim EX-FH20 essentially delivers a couple of absolutely amazing features, but can only muster mediocre image quality, and comes with a stiff price tag.

Seagate just dropped several new FreeAgent external hard drives on us to help with all the gigabytes terabytes of photos we generate.  From the ultra-compact (it’s crazy-small) 250GB Go drive up to the monster 1.5TB XTreme and 1.5TB Desk drives, you’re sure to find something that serves your needs.  They come packed with all the connections you need too – Firewire 800 (on several), Firewire 400 and USB 2.0.

Leica M8.2

September 15, 2008 By Eric Reagan

GERMANY – 15 September 2008 – The new LEICA M8.2 is an exciting upgrade of Leica Camera AG’s German-made M series digital rangefinder camera for professionals. Improving on important LEICA M8 attributes such as discretion, intuitive work and robustness , the new model retains the key characteristics of the Leica reportage camera such as the compact shape, the exceptional image quality in connection with Leica M lenses and the unique picture composition with the Leica rangefinder that show it to be a genuine M camera. The LEICA M8.2 complements the M8, and many elements of the M8.2 can be integrated into the M8 if desired. With this parallel marketing, Leica Camera AG is underlining yet again the full system compatibility and high value retention of its M series. [Read more…]
