Along with the Canon 1D X, three new PIXMA all-in-one photo printers slipped out of the gate today. The PIXMA MG4120, MG3120 and MG2120 continue the affordable product line occupied by their predecessors at $130, $80 and $70, respectively.
The MG4120 and MG3120 are WiFi-compatible, and the MG4120 features a built-in LCD screen and controls that allow you to print images without the use of a computer. All of the models feature a new FastFront system, which puts the ink storage and paper tray at the front of the printer and allows easy access for loading ink or paper.
I hope this isn’t the extent of the Pixma announcements. I was really hoping on a top end Pixma printer being announced on the 26th. It seems doubtful now.
I think there’s still more to the PIXMA stuff later this month. Too much fuss from Canon to fail to deliver something worthwhile. I’ll probably be at the event and will relay thoughts on whatever unfolds. If I don’t make it to the event, I’ll be sure to cover whatever results from it up close at PhotoPlus.
