Back in July, we learned that the new Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II was being pushed back to September. Well, it’s September now and Canon Rumors has word that retailers have started to receive their stock of the new lens. The lenses are expected to be in retailers in North America and Europe by September 13.
The new lens was announced by Canon back in February 2012 and was slated for availability in April 2012. The lens is expected to be widely available by October after pre-orders are filled.

As ,we shoot video also , was really hoping the delay might of meant the adding of IS. looks like will have to go with the Tamron sp24-70 f/2.8 Di VC USD instead, which despite being a lot cheaper would have still preferred the Canon. Maybe Mark 3 will incorporate IS who knows
