Canon is serving up a $400 instant rebate on the Canon 5D Mark II, which is likely being pushed aside now that the Canon 6D has landed. This puts the Canon 5D Mark II body at $1799 shipped and the 5D Mark II + 24-105mm f/4L kit lens at $2499 shipped.
This massive price drop makes the 5D Mark II the cheapest full frame camera on the market in spite of the low starting prices of the new Canon 6D and Nikon D600.
I work at best buyin the digital imaging department and did see that we have it marked down to 1799 in stores now. Canon must of dropped the price overall which I think is awesome in for the 6d release.
