Canon has introduced a pair of new EF-mount cinema prime lenses, the CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and CN-E135mm T2.2 L F. These new lenses join Canon’s CN-E24mm T1.5 L F, CN-E50mm T1.3 L F, and CN-E85mm T1.3 L F primes for a total of five Canon EF-mount cinema prime lenses. All of Canon’s EF-mount cinema primes offer full frame coverage and meet 4K production standards.
The CN-E14mm T3.1 L F lens is expected to be available in April 2013 for an estimated retail price of $5,500. The CN-E135mm T2.2 L F lens is expected to be available in May 2013 for an estimated retail price of $5,200.
Charles Mackenzie-Hill says
Gosh, some lens’s. Would they be for rental houses mainly?
Eric Reagan says
I think we’ll see some in rental houses and that will be how a lot of folks on the lower end use these, but I also think they are priced appropriately that a lot of working cinematographers and directors can incorporate them into kits with Canon DSLRs or Cine cameras like the C100/C300/C500.
