Canon has released new firmware for the EOS M. Firmware version 2.0.2 is supposed to address the AF speed issues that are so detrimental to the enjoyment of an otherwise good camera (read my EOS M Review). Additionally, it adds support for the new EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens.
Specifically, firmware version 2.0.2 adresses the following issues:
- Improves focusing speed in One-Shot AF mode.
- Now supports EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM.
*When placing the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM without conducting the firmware update, although rare, at times the EOS M will not function. - Corrects errors in the Simplified Chinese, Hungarian, Traditional Chinese and Korean language menus.
You can download the updated firmware here on Canon’s website.

Another fix not mentioned is that the behavior of EF-lenses with IS in video recording mode is changed from always off (impossible to use IS when shooting video) to always on.
A great improvement/fix. I was really disappointed I could not use the IS on my 70-300 IS L lens previously.
