The Fuji X-A1 should be along within the next week or so at the rate of leaks we’re at now. The latest leak shows off some official images of the upcoming X-A1, as well as the full press release.
The Fuji X-A1 will be the entry-level X-Series camera, sporting a 16MP APS-C CMOS EXR sensor (not the X-Trans like other Fuji X-Series cameras) and will be available in black, red and blue. It will also feature a 3-inch vari-angle LCD and offer a startup time of 0.5 seconds and a shutter lag time of 0.05 seconds. The max frame rate is 5.6fps.
The X-A1 also has a pop-up flash and standard hot shoe. It is compatible with Fuji X-Series lenses, alongside the Fuji X-M1, X-E1 and X-Pro1.
No official word on pricing; however, expect the kit to be well below the $799 price tag of the X-M1.

I wish e-zines would not publish leaks. Nobody benefits.
Anyway, correction to your commentary: X-Trans is a SENSOR not a processor.

Thanks for the correction. It’s fixed now.
