In an odd turn of events, Panasonic is alleged to have shared details about the Canon 7D successor in a media presentation for the new Panasonic GH4.
The purpose of sharing the details was to compare the 7D Mark II’s specs with the superiority of the Panasonic GH4. The alleged specs of the 7D Mark II, courtesy of Panasonic, are as follows:
- 20MP sensor
- ISO 100-12,800 (25600 extended)
- 1/8000 shutter
- Quiet shutter mode
- Phase detect AF, 19 area
- 8fps continuous shooting
- Buffer size – 15 raw, 126 JPEG
- 3.0? 1040k dot LCD (touch screen) – not articulated
- Weather sealed (as original 7D)
- 910g weight
These specs differ slightly from past rumors that we have seen; however, we will hopefully know more concrete details soon as the camera has been widely rumored to launch in the second quarter of 2014.

I really hope they (Panasonic) is wrong regarding the 19 point AF system. I have been holding out for the new 7D for its rumored AF and high ISO. Please let them be wrong :)
i’ve been waiting for ages for the new 7D. if that’s the spec list i’ll be hanging onto my money
Totally agree with you both, I’ve owned my 7D for over 3 years now and these specs are for all intense and purposes identical!
