September 3, 2014 By Eric Reagan

onOne Perfect Photo Suite 9

onOne Software has announced Perfect Photo Suite 9 with a number of new features. Among the key new features are fast previews of RAW files, a new Smart Photo feature, which lets you re-edit photos with previous settings intact and improved masking tools. Additionally, noise reduction is now part of the Suite as a result of user feedback and requests.

Perfect Photo Suite 9 will be available in late October 2014 in two versions: Premium and Basic. The Premium version includes support as a plug-in ofr Photoshop, Lightroom, Photoshop Elements and Aperture; and retails for $129.95. The Basic version doesn’t offer plug-in support but functions as a standalone image editor; and retails for $79.95.

The Premium version is available for a limited time to owners of previous versions of Perfect Photo Suite for $89.95.

More details about Perfect Photo Suite 9 are available here at onOne Software’s website.

Here we go again with the annual announcement from OnOne Software that they want some more money for a product that is becoming increasingly bloated and harder to use. In their attempt to move from being a supplement for Adobe LR or PS to being a replacement, the product has changed and become clogged with menus and navigation challenges. It used to just install and run, now multiple errors and freezes. I, for one, will not be “upgrading” this time. In fact, find myself using NIK filters more often and only using Perfect Resize from the suite.

I am the same way. Milking us for more money. Portrait Professional does the same thing. I stop using the product. All the products are becoming the same anyways.. How may features can a person possibly use. How many of them can you even remember exist in the product.
