An image of a Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L lens surfaced on kakaku.com earlier this month. Shortly after the image was posted, it was removed.
A previous patent for a Canon 11-24mm lens adds credence to the possibility that the image is real and not a Photoshop prank. Recently, there have been rumors and suggestions that Canon might announce more cameras or lenses before the end of 2014 – and possibly prior to PhotoPlus 2014 next month.
If legit, the lens appears to be a rectilinear fisheye rather than a circular fisheye lens like the Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L. I’m sure there are plenty of Canon wide-angle shooters hoping this is legit and there’s finally a Canon full frame alternative to the popular Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 DG HSM lens. Although, I wouldn’t expect the Canon lens to be similarly priced to the Sigma option.

Surely not 2 different fisheye zooms in the same range? I thought the whole point of the 8-15 fisheye zoom was to have both circular and full frame fisheyes in the same lens. If real, this is likely a straight UWA zoom (i.e. rectilinear).
