The new Canon CINE-SERVO 50-1000mm T5.0-8.9 lens is available for pre-order in both EF and PL mount options. It will only set you back $70,200 with free shipping, of course. That’s nearly $8k below the announced retail price.

I remember years ago we rented some cinema lenses and I took them back in an old, beat-up VW Jetta from the rental house. The car was probably worth less than the cases that the lenses were being taken back to the studio in. It was kind of comical at the time.
Either way, I love Canon glass – always will. But I’ll likely never purchase one of these. I’ll be lucky to even rent one at some point in time.
