Xume Quick Release Adapters are designed to help you quickly swap or add filters to your lenses. The adapters use magnets to secure the lens filters onto the end of lenses.
In order to use the adapters, you simply screw one onto the lens and mount your filters on the filter holder. When you bring the mounted filter to the front of your lens, it will snap into place. Check out the video below for an overview.
[vimeo https://vimeo.com/95193760 w=700]I just saw these at PhotoPlus 2014 for the first time and haven’t used them yet. Two concerns I have are vignetting in the corners with (1) wide angle lenses or (2) using them with stacked filters. If those are things you need to do with your filters, I would recommend checking around about your specific setup to make sure they are compatible without vignetting. Otherwise, these seem to work well and have generally positive user reviews.
You can buy a kit with a single lens adapter and a couple filter holders for around $50. Larger kits are available if you want add more filters for quick swapping with the Xume system. Check them out here at B&H Photo.

Concerns aside, it seems pretty handy … I might have to try them out for myself soon!

Being challenged with arthritis and fibromyalgia, fiddling with small items such as filters (especially when complicated by issues like fine threads) is always exciting. I can see a huge advantage with these, particularly with circular polarizers. No more worries of accidentally un-screwing the filter if I rotate it the wrong direction, no more filter wrenches to drop. Vignetting can be an issue with any lens accessories, and I do more telephoto than wide shooting so will be looking more closely at these.
