Comparing Canon EF Lenses on the EOS M10 and Sony A5100
In this video, I look at the new Canon EOS M10 and Sony A5100 and how well they both work with Canon EF lenses when paired with the Canon EF to EF-M Adapter and the Metabones EF – E Speed Booster Ultra (note: link is the newest version), respectively.
Lenses used on the M10 and A5100 in this video are the EF 40mm f/2.8 STM, EF 50mm f/1.4 USM and EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM.
Canon has taken a lot of crap for its efforts in the mirrorless market (and in many ways, deservedly so). The EOS M10, although an entry-level model, is a step in the right direction. Sony isn’t slowing down and once it gets its own lens library built up, we’ll all stop asking questions about which adapter is the right one for your Sony mirrorless camera and Canon lenses.
Panasonic GH4 Paired with 44-2415mm Fujinon Lens
Check out these cool shots captured with a Panasonic GH4 and a Fujinon 9.5-525mm B4 mount ENG lens.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-baLc-POBM&w=700]The lens is made for 2/3″ sensor ENG and studio cameras; however, Fotodiox makes a handy little B4 to Micro Four Thirds mount adapter. When you use the adapter coupled with the 2.6x extender feature of the GH4, then you can cover the active sensor area with the smaller image circle.
Stacking the 2.6x extender on top of the Micro Four Thirds 2x crop factor gives you a massive reach with this lens. [Read more…]
Xume Quick Release Adapters Use Magnets to Mount Lens Filters
Xume Quick Release Adapters are designed to help you quickly swap or add filters to your lenses. The adapters use magnets to secure the lens filters onto the end of lenses.
In order to use the adapters, you simply screw one onto the lens and mount your filters on the filter holder. When you bring the mounted filter to the front of your lens, it will snap into place. Check out the video below for an overview. [Read more…]
Fuji Unveils M-Mount Adapter for the X-Pro1
Fuji had previously said it would bring an Leica M-Mount adapter to the X-Pro1 and, today, Fuji made good on that promise with the announcement of the $200 Fuji-labeled M-Mount adapter.
The camera side of the M-Mount Adapter features an array of electronic connections that automatically pass information to the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 body based on pre-registered lens profiles. With firmware version 1.10 or later, this information is transmitted by pressing the Function button on the side of the adapter, which allows users to access the M-Mount Adapter Settings menu on the rear LCD.
The adapter will be available in June. Check availability at B&H Photo.
