Last week, I shared how one pro photographer switched from Nikon to Sony’s mirrorless cameras. But Sony isn’t the only mirrorless camera maker that is firing on all cylinders.
Photographer Lukas Gisbert-mora recently switched from Nikon’s DSLR system to Fuji’s X-Series with the new Fuji X-T1. He’s been a Nikon user for 15 years and after 3 months and 20,000 photos with the X-T1, he switched completely to the Fuji X-T1.
He discusses some of the pains of moving to the Fuji system, as well as the advantages offered by the fast AF system, EVF and the great Fuji X lens system.
Some of the comments last week referenced the Fuji X-Series as an alternative to Sony’s A7 Series, which certainly rings true here. What do you think about the Fuji X-Series as an alternative to DSLRs for wedding and portrait work? Does Lukas point out any reasons that persuade you to consider moving to a mirrorless system?

I grew up in Japan. I can’t understand this accent. Why did he switch?

None whatsoever.

I think the biggest takeaway is that another guy who makes his living from his photography is opting for a mirrorless system…

Why make so much deal out some guy switching? Oh Yes, Fuji just like Canon thinks that everyone will follow. NOT going to happen. The only thing this kind of publishing does is pissing off consumers against these companies who advertize against other companies.

This is a non-review! Takes 16 minutes to say “I like Fuji better than Nikon”. So what? No proper comparison, no explanation of strengths of each system. Might as well say, I prefer blondes rather than brunettes.
Disappointed…

Yeah, it would be interesting to know *exactly* why he switched. When I see articles about pros switching between Nikon and Canon, it’s usually because the new company made him a Canon Explorer of Light or a Nikon Ambassador (similar concepts). Being either does give a photographer many, many benefits.
