Tamron has released its new SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD lens for Canon, Nikon and Sony A mounts. Note, however, that the Sony A-mount version does not include the VC motor for image stabilization.
The lens offers full frame coverage with XGM and LD glass elements in the front group to minimize chromatic aberrations, along with Tamron’s eBAND and BBAR coatings to reduce ghosting and flare. It has a 9-blade aperture and features a built-in lens hood.
The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD lens retails for $1199. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
Manfrotto did not “unveil” this lens this week. They unveiled it at photokina in September 2014, http://www.dpreview.com/articles/2269034191/photokina-2014-hands-on-with-new-tamron-lenses-including-15-30mm-f2-8
They ARE now finally beginning to ship the lens. It’s the same as the model at photokina but is now in full production.
thanks for the clarification Peter.
