the lense of cannon are not suitable for that resolution or even close to that, so yo will never be able
to use those 50 Mpixel. actualy not even 25 Mp (50%)….. So why buy this Gimik????

Perhaps you have one or both of the TS lenses. Perhaps one of the new wide primes. Perhaps you shoot landscapes and are looking to upgrade your 5D2 or even a 5D3.

Very tempting to own if you can afford or deduct from your business but for a hobbyist like me, I’m contented with my 5DIII even i blow up my photos up to 30X36. What matters is the lens to use. I recommend Canon to update their 28-300 mm L lens which is as old as Methuselah. They have to make it lighter and shorter too with IS features

I agree with your comments regarding the 28-300 lens. I’ve had one since they were first introduced, and hardly ever use it for that very reason…. it’s TOO heavy! Instead, for most photo ops, I prefer the TAMRON 28-300, which is a tad slower at the long end, BUT it is pounds lighter, and whether I’m using it on the 5D Mk II or 7D, it performs well, at least to my satisfaction. But, I’ve never enlarged images to 30″x36″ so I have no experience with that.
Additionally, I wish that CANON would bring back an upgraded version of an old EF lens, the 35-350. I have found this lens to be a very convenient one to use for many shoots. It is significantly lighter than the 28-300, and just as fast. It’s one fault however is that it does not have the “IS” function, so you have to be somewhat more diligent when using it. Again, it works well with both the 5D & the 7D bodies. Finally, IF you notice the prices of this lens in the Used Depts., in VG condition (or better), it had retained about 90% of its initial sale price. Not bad for a lens that was introduced in the early ’90s with the CANON EOS 1 film camera.
