Adobe has revealed its annual update the Elements software series with Photoshop Elements 14 and Premiere Elements 14.
Photoshop Elements 14 adds several new features and enhances several existing features. Two new “wow” features include camera shake reduction and a dehaze tool.
Here’s a look at shake reduction:
And below is a walkthrough of the dehaze tool in Photoshop Elements 14:
Adobe also adds improvements to automatic photo enhancements, guided editing and selecting elements within photos.
Premiere Element 14’s major upgrade is 4K video support (up from HD). Guided edits, motion titles and fine tuning audio controls also get improvements over last year’s version.
You can find Photoshop Elements 14 and Premiere Elements 14 here at B&H Photo.

Very interesting that they include the “dehaze” tool in Photoshop Elements, but restrict it from Lightroom 6.
Not really consistent with the ongoing push to get everyone into Adobe CC. But maybe there’s hope for the stand-alone version of Lightroom?

I’m not sure Adobe sees Lightroom as a standalone product for the future. Short-term there will likely be a Lightroom 6.5 or 7 release, but after that it may move to a subscription-only model like the rest of their “PRO” apps.
Adobe views these “ELEMENTS” products as non-professional and I do not see them abandoning the business model. People want something and this does prevent some pirating and illegal downloads. Given their relatively cheap cost, is it even worth the risk anyway?
I know many people who buy once every year, every other year, or once every time they get a new laptop or upgrade their OS to a new major version. I cannot imagine it’s THAT expensive or difficult for Adobe to continue offering a watered down product as an Elements release, or to just package a few more features into the software every year.
I’m a CC subscriber because I need their software for video post-production work I do. I simply do not have any other options (unless giving up clients because I refuse to update software is considered an option). I do wish I was able to get these “LITE” versions as a CC subscriber. I will not purchase them for my licensed machines and have not used them since the #10 release. Even just to know more about how they work and recommend them to friends/family, it may help drive their sales a bit…

Dehaze won’t come to Lightroom until the next full version release (i.e., Lightroom 7).
