Thanks to Eddie G for posting this video in the comments of the last post wherein I complimented the new AF tech inside the Canon EOS R. This video has been remixed for many different memes and it works just as well here. Check it out above and have a good laugh at Canon’s expense.

Totally hilarious video. Yes, the R camera does not have full frame 4K video, however Nikon Z7/6 does have it. But on the positive side look at Joel Grimes video on youtube about testing the Canon R camera in Hawaii both on beach location with new 1.2 lens, plus the adapter with 70-200mm f2.8 and studio lighting at high speed sync with no fuss (closest eye to camera) eye tracking in autofocus. Face and eye-tracking is also possible in manual mode using on screen 3 triangle icons that meet at perfect focus when turning lens in manual mode and you know you have it. Joel is well respected in industry and he was impressed on R camera, for the photography side. Yes, they could have added better video features, but Canon I think was not prepared to have their C100/C300 video camera line suffer from this DSLR with too much features. Nikon is delivering though in full frame 4K video as they have no C line cameras. However full frame is available for Full HD video and crop for 4K.

Hi Adrian,
I shot Canon for 19 years and loved the brand.
When I saw what the SONY A9 could do, I wrote to Canon to ask if they would be competing in the FF mirrorless field, because without any shadow of a doubt, mirrorless technology so way more advanced than DSLR, and as a loyal wildlife/sports photographer, I need to move forward…
Their silence was deafening! Sadly so…. :-(
The SONY A7iii @ US$ 2,000.00 was a huge, mortal blow to Canon and NIKON who took their eyes off the ball, and tried to build something in the same price bracket, and compete on price!
All they managed, was less than half the features and abilities @ 10% more than the SONY A7iii !
A sad day indeed for CANIKON management strategy… They were outplayed, outgunned, and outfoxed ! Now it will exacerbate what was already a problem for CANIKON who were caught with their pants down!.
Can CANIKON catch up in this field? I have serious doubts……
Can DSLR compete with FF Mirrorless equipment? I don’t see it, for so many great reasons!
The name KODAK keeps chiming away in my head!!!! :-(
Lets sincerely hope that CANIKON can push SONY, FUJI, Olympus and others, because that’s what progress is all about, and the photo world needs solid competition to propel progress

Yes it hilarious but it expresses my frustration with Canon.
