Samsung SH100

The Samsung SH100 is a compact Wi-Fi camera introduced at CES 2011.  The SH100 features a 14.2MP image sensor, a 5x optical zoom and captures 720p HD video.

The built-in Wi-Fi allows you to connect directly to a Samsung Galaxy S phone or other wireless devices and stream a live view image to your phone.  The SH100 will also upload photos wirelessly to a PC and can connect to an HDTV for image viewing.

The Samsung SH100 should be available in March 2011 at an initial retail price of $199.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Kodak EasyShare Touch, Mini and Sport Cameras

At CES 2011, Kodak has unveiled 3 new point and shoot camera models – the EasyShare Touch, Mini and Sport.

The Kodak EasyShare Touch features a 3-inch touchscreen LCD, 14MP sensor, 720p HD video capture and a 5x optical zoom.  The EasyShare Touch will be available in Spring 2011 at an initial retail price of $149.95.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

The Kodak EasyShare Mini is a compact 10MP camera with a 3x optical zoom that will be available in Spring 2011 at an initial retail price of $99.95.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

The EasyShare Sport is a 12MP waterproof camera (up to 10 feet) that will be available in Spring 2011 at an initial retail price of $79.95.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

New Kodak Pulse Digital Frame Says OMG! (literally)

The new Kodak Pulse digital frame is a Wi-Fi enabled frame with some interesting (or perhaps, odd) features.  The Pulse frame has its own email address, which allows other people to email photos to the frame, which are then displayed.

Once new photos are received, you can use the frame to contact the sender with comments on their photo and (as Kodak puts it) “includes options like Such a Kodak Moment, LOL!, OMG!, Congrats! and Wish I were there!”

A 7-inch version of the frame is $130, while a 10-inch version will cost $200.  Both should be available in Spring 2011.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Kodak ESP C310 All-in-One Printer

At CES 2011, Kodak has introduced a new all-in-one printer, the ESP C310, which uses Kodak’s new 30 series ink system (supposedly lowering total ink replacement cast.  The Kodak ESP C310 should be available by April 2011 at an initial retail price of $99.95.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Lexar 64GB and 128GB SDXC Cards Announced

Lexar has announced new Lexar Professional 133x SDXC cards in 128GB and 64GB flavors.  The new cards offer a transfer speed of 20MB per second.  The new 64GB and 128GB cards will be available in the first quarter of this year at initial retail prices of $399.99 and $699.99, respectively.

Sony Cameras Coming This Week . . .

Sony has a press conference set for Wednesday evening this week at CES 2011, which should lead to the unveiling of numerous new tech products.  Photo Rumors has it on good word that Sony will be dropping the following new point and shoot cameras:

  • Cybershot DSC-W510: 12MP, 2.7 in. screen, sweep panorama function
  • Cybershot DSC-W530: upgrades to a 14MP sensor
  • Cybershot DSC-W560: adds SteadyShot and 720p HD video
  • Cybershot DSC-W570: adds 16MP, 5x zoom (25mm on the wide side)
  • Cybershot DSC-WX9: high end model, 16MP Exmor R CMOS, 3 in. LCD, 1080i video, 3D, 10fps, background defocus feature, HDMI
  • Cybershot DSC-WX10: top of the line, f/2.4 lens, manual WB, very high speed AF
  • Cybershot DSC-H70: 16MP CCD sensor, 3 in. LCD, 720p HD video, sweep panorama
  • Cybershot DSC-HX7: 16MP Exmor R CMOS sensor, 3 in. LCD, 1080i video 3D, HDR, 10 fps
  • Cybershot DSC-HX7: 16MP Exmor R sensor, 3 in LCD screen, 1080i video, sweep panorama, background defocus feature, 10 fps
  • Cybershot DSC-T110, DSC-TX10 – very small point and shoot camera, no other details available

The First RED EPIC Stolen, RED Offers $100k Reward

Remember when the first RED EPIC that shipped out to a customer a couple weeks ago?

Well, it was stolen.

Someone broke into Mark Pederson’s chalet while he was vacationing in France and stole the only EPIC-M that’s gone out the door to a customer.  Jim Jannard is offering $100,000 to the camera’s safe return and the conviction of the thieves. [Read more…]
