ExpoDisc is a professional digital white balance tool from ExpoImaging. ExpoDisc aids in setting an accurate custom white balance on digital cameras. Photography Bay recently reviewed the ColorRight white balance tool (read review). A few readers mentioned ExpoDisc and other white balance tools and asked how they stack up against ColorRight. While this is a review of ExpoDisc, I will make several comparisons to ColorRight throughout the review to address some of the prior questions and requests. [Read more…]
Q&A With Sony on the A900
I managed to get a few questions to a Sony Europe spokesperson regarding the new A900 last week. As you’ll see, I also tried to solicit some info on future models, but Sony was tight-lipped on anything related to future products. [Read more…]
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 Review at Digital Camera Info
Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3.
The LX3 is a very expensive point-and-shoot camera. It has a list price of $500, and while we absolutely love the body and feel of the camera, it has too many downsides for the price. Its test scores were average or below average in most cases, and even its high scores in Color and Manual Noises weren’t far from its much cheaper cousin, the Lumix TZ3.

Nikon D90 Review at PhotoReview
PhotoReview has posted a review of the Nikon D90.
In both available-light shots and flash shots in low light levels, the test camera turned in an outstanding performance, recording images with little visible noise and no sign of blotchiness. Imatest confirmed our subjective assessments and showed only a slight decline in resolution as ISO sensitivity was increased.

Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Review at Trusted Reviews
Trusted Reviews has posted a review of the Canon PowerShot A2000 IS.
The lack of the usual A-series manual exposure options and optical viewfinder may also put off some potential buyers. However the camera is extremely easy to use, the wide zoom range is very versatile and the performance and picture quality are well up to the high standard we’ve come to expect from Canon.

Pentax Optio W60 Review at Digital Camera Info
Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the Pentax Optio W60.
The Pentax takes the worry out of these situations, and for many users that’s going to be worth a few extra dollars compared to a less rugged camera with otherwise similar features. Image quality is adequate if not outstanding, but good enough for the point-and-shoot task at hand.
Pansonic Lumix DMC-FX500 Review at Imaging Resource
Imaging Resource has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix FX500. The FX500 is a 10.1 megapixel point & shoot camera with a 5x wide angle lens. It also features Panasonic’s O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization).
A fun camera with a few overkill features, the Panasonic FX500 captures very good color and detail marred only by a tendency to over-optimize flat color, and a tendency for noise even at the lowest ISO setting.
