Canon Hong Kong has posted a teaser image for what is believed to be a new lens announcement on April 24 (that’s this Thursday). There are no specific leaks on the radar; however, the object in the image is the rough shape of a lens, with some speculating that it could be a new fast prime lens. [Read more…]
Recent rumors suggest that we will see a pair of new Canon TS-E tilt-shift lenses added to Canon’s lineup in September for Photokina 2014.
The current TS-E 45mm f/2.8 and TS-E 90mm F/2.8 are well-overdue replacement; however, rumors point to only the 45mm lens getting a direct replacement while the other TS-E lens in the pipeline with be a “longer focal length” but not a 90mm lens. [Read more…]

Canon has filed another patent application for a EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS lens, which has become sort of a holy grail lens for Canon owners. The patent application was filed back in September 2012 but was just published last month. [Read more…]
Recent rumors suggest that the Canon 7D Mark II’s release date may have slipped a bit due to manufacturing issues of the Dual Pixel AF sensor for the camera. The excellent Dual Pixel AF we first saw in the Canon 70D and the Canon 7D Mark II is rumored to have a higher performance version of the sensor. [Read more…]

The Canon’s EOS M remains the only mirrorless camera available for Canon’s US customers even though the EOS M2 was released in December 2013 for Japan and China. That may change, however, if rumors of the EOS M3, due later this year, turn out to be true. [Read more…]
