The Canon PowerShot N is definitely one of the most unique cameras released this year at CES 2013. While it offers common features found in modern point and shoot cameras (like a 12.MP sensor and an 8x optical zoom lens with image stabilization), the form-factor and control scheme of the PowerShot N puts it on an entirely different playing field than your typical pocket camera.

Canon CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and CN-E135mm T2.2 L F Cine Lenses Unveiled

Canon has introduced a pair of new EF-mount cinema prime lenses, the CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and CN-E135mm T2.2 L F. These new lenses join Canon’s CN-E24mm T1.5 L F, CN-E50mm T1.3 L F, and CN-E85mm T1.3 L F primes for a total of five Canon EF-mount cinema prime lenses. All of Canon’s EF-mount cinema primes offer full frame coverage and meet 4K production standards. Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 IS, A2600 and A1400 Announced

Alongside the new PowerShot N, Canon also announced the ELPH 130 IS, A2600 and A1400 at CES 2013.

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 IS features a 16MP sensor, 8x optical zoom and 3-inch LCD. Built-in WiFi allows the ELPH 130 IS to connect with Canon’s CameraWindow app on iOS and Android devices. The Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 IS retails for $199.99 and should be available in February. Check availability here at B&H Photo.

The Canon Powershot A2600 features a 16MP sensor, 5x optical zoom and 720p HD video capture. It retails for $149.99 and should be available in February. Check availability here at B&H Photo.

The Canon Powershot A1400 features a 16MP sensor, 5x optical zoom, HD video capture and is powered by AA batteries. It retails for $109.99 and should be available in February. Check availability here at B&H Photo.

Canon PowerShot N Unique Compact Camera Design Announced

The Canon PowerShot N is a new 12.1MP compact camera with a unique design. It has a a shutter and zoom ring on the top and bottom to aid with snapping images from a variety of angles. The PowerShot N also captures 1080p HD video and can wirelessly share images to iOS and Android devices via a Mobile Device Connect Button.

A new Creative Shot mode automatically applies “a series of artistic elements by varying composition, lighting and color. Creative Shot will render five different variations of the shot in different color modes, crops, and styles, delivering creative new perspectives automatically while still maintaining the original image.”

Canon 70D, 7D Mark II, EOS M2 and 1DSx Rumors

Canon 70D and 7D Mark II Rumors

Several rumors of upcoming Canon DSLRs appeared in a Japanese magazine, along with what appears to be confidence ratings on the chance that they’ll surface in 2013. Atop the list are the Canon 70D and 7D Mark II with a 70% and 85% likelihood chance, respectively, that we’ll see them this year as obvious replacements to the current Canon 60D and 7D.  Key rumored specs for the 70D and 7D Mark II include a 24MP APS-C sensor and sensitivity up to ISO 25,600.
