Sony has another round of big trade-in bonuses for the A7 II, A7R II and A7S II cameras through April 1, 2017. You can trade an old DSLR or lens in for credit toward a Sony camera or lens and get up to $480 in bonuses on top of the trade value.

Tony Northrup put the Nikon D5 and Sony A7R II side-by-side for an ISO comparison when shooting video. He ran the comparison up to ISO 3,276,800, which is seven stops beyond the A7R II’s capability. He pushed the exposure for the A7R II in post to match the D5 and it held up quite well.

Sony has released firmware version 2.0 for the A7R II. The firmware update adds the following improvements over version 1.10:
This is a free firmware update of a highly-requested feature (uncompressed 14-bit RAW). You can download it here on Sony’s website.
Alongside the announcement of the new Sony RX1R II, which ships with uncompressed 14-bit RAW image capture from its 42.4MP full frame sensor, Sony also announced that firmware version 2.0 will be available for the Sony A7R II next Monday, October 19, 2015 and will add uncompressed 14-bit RAW image capture as a menu option.
Additionally, firmware version 2.0 will add the ability for the A7R II to output video via HDMI during use of the Remote Camera Control software, that enables remote capture from a connected computer.
The firware update will be available here on Sony’s support site for the A7R II.
