Sony Announcement on August 14

August 5, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Photoclub Alpha has confirmed that Sony will be announcing an “exciting digital camera” on August 14.

They go on to say that they don’t think this will be the announcement for the Sony A900 and expect it to come closer to Photokina at “an international Sony Alpha press trip on Sept 9/10th to Edinburgh.”

No other word on what the “exciting digital camera” for August 14 could be. It’s just a little over a week though, so we’ll probably see some more leaks and hints. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted when more is known.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Review at PhotographyBLOG

August 4, 2008 By Eric Reagan

PhotographyBLOG has posted a review of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10.

The Cyber-shot DSC-H10 is the latest in a long line of super-zoom cameras from Sony. Successor to the H3 model, the DSC-H10 adds a larger 3 inch LCD screen, and retains the same 8 megapixel sensor and 10x, 38-380mm zoom lens. Other standout features of the Sony H10 include Super Steady Shot image stabilisation, Dynamic Range Optimisation, Face Detection and a wide range of manually adjustable settings. Currently retailing for around £200 / $300, Zoltan Arva-Toth finds out if the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 is worth considering.

The images produced by the Sony Cyber-shot H10 can be stunning. This is largely a testament to the fine lens used.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50 Review at PhotographyBLOG

June 16, 2008 By Eric Reagan

PhotographyBLOG has posted a review of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50.

. . . the H50’s image quality is better than expected, and if its images don’t quite sing like those from a DSLR with a subject dedicated lens attached, they’re nevertheless reassuringly sharp and colourful even at the default settings, with the ability to adjust these parameters either way to suit personal taste.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Review at Cnet

May 4, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Cnet has posted a review of the new 8.1 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 is a decent budget megazoom that can deliver very nice outdoor shots, but its photo quality falls short in other respects.
