Olympus has submitted a patent application in Japan for what looks like a camera-centric Google Glass unit. The Olympus glasses feature a built-in camera and display; however, little else is revealed concerning the camera’s functionality – and it’s hard to imagine connected glasses units from Olympus that would offer greater connectivity than what we see in Google Glass. Google has opened up applications for what it is calling Glass Explorers. A select few “bold, creative individuals” will be invited by Google to become a Glass Explorer and given the opportunity to pre-order Glass Explorer Edition for $1500. You will also have to pick them up in person in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
