Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens Now In Stock

Sigma 17-70mm DC Macro OS HSM

The new Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM lens is now in stock for Canon mounts at both B&H and Adorama.

It also appears to be in stock in the Sony mount option here at Adorama. Note that the Sony version does not include Optical Stabilization due to the built-in stabilization in Sony Alpha cameras; however, Sigma still prices the Sony mount version at the same price of the other OS versions.

All the other mounts are available for pre-order here at B&H or here at Adorama.

Tokina Unveils AT-X 70-200mm f/4 PRO FX VCM-S Lens

Tokina AT-X 70-200mm f4 PRO FX VCM-S Lens

Alongside the new 12-28mm wide-angle zoom lens for APS-C cameras, Tokina has announced a new telephoto zoom – the AT-X 70-200mm f/4 PRO FX VCM-S.

Notably, the new AT-X 70-200mm f/4 PRO FX VCM-S lens is designed to work on both full frame and APS-C crop sensor DSLRs. The new 70-200mm f/4 lens features built-in image stabilization and 19 elements in 14 groups. The lens has a 67mm filter size and offers a minimum focusing distance of 1 meter.

Olympus M.ZUIKO ED 75-300mm f4.8-6.7 II Lens Officially Unveiled

Olympus M.ZUIKO ED 75-300mm f4.8-6.7 II

Olympus has officially announced its new M.ZUIKO ED 75-300mm f4.8-6.7 II lens for Micro Four Thirds mount. The lens has been designed to match the OM-D E-M5 and PEN Micro Four Thirds series cameras. Olympus added a new advancedZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating to keep scratches off, and eliminate ghosting and lens flare.

The new 75-300mm lens offers a reach equivalent to 150-600mm when used on Micro Four Thirds cameras with their 2x crop factor. The M.ZUIKO ED 75-300mm f4.8-6.7 II lens should be available in March at a retail price of $549.99. Check availability here at B&H Photo.

Tokina has introduced a new wide-angle zoom lens for DSLRs with APS-C sensors. The Tokina AT-X 12-28mm f/4 PRO DX lens features 14 elements in 12 groups and a minimum focus distance of 25cm (roughly 9.8 inches).

Tamron 14-150mm f/3.5-5.8 Di III VC Lens for Micro Four Thirds Unveiled

Tamron has announced a new superzoom lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The new 14-150mm F/3.5-5.8 Di III VC lens offers a 28-300mm equivalent zoom range on Micro Four Thirds cameras and features built-in Vibration Compensation.

No word yet on pricing or availability; however, as with most new product announcements this week, availability this Spring would be a good estimation. We’ll have more as soon as Tamron makes it available.

Nikon Officially Announces the AF-S NIKKOR 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED Lens

AF-S NIKKOR 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED Lens

The new AF-S NIKKOR 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens has been rumored for a few weeks now, and has finally been officially unveiled. The new 18-35mm lens offers full frame coverage for FX-format DSLRs like the D600 and D800.

It features 12 elements in 8 groups and a 7-blade diaphragm. The lens has two focus modes: M/A (AF with manual override) and full manual, and features Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor. Minimum focus distance is approximately 11 inches.

The AF-S NIKKOR 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens should be available in March at a retail price of $749.95. Check availability at B&H Photo and Amazon.com.

Olympus XZ-10 and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II Lens Coming Soon

New leaks point to a new Olympus XZ-10 compact camera and 75-300mm Micro Four Thirds lens coming next week during the CP+ show in Japan.

The XZ-10 is rumored to be a high-end compact camera that will likely serve as a replacement or companion model to the Olympus XZ-2.

The new lens will be the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II Micro Four Thirds lens that will be a 150-600mm equivalent zoom lens. The first version of this lens is already listed as discontinued.

Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED Full Frame Lens Coming This Month?

Current Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D ED-IF Lens

Nikon is rumored to be dropping a new full frame lens at the end of January at the CP+ show in Japan. The new Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-f.5G ED lens should be compatible with both FX and DX cameras and will weigh in as the lightest FX zoom in Nikon’s lineup at a mere 400g (or 14 ounces).

Other specs on the rumored lens include a 77mm filter thread with 12 elements in 8 groups. The lens should serve as a proper replacement for the existing 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D ED lens.
