PhotographyBLOG has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500. The FX500 is a 10.1 megapixel point & shoot camera with a 5x wide angle lens. It also features Panasonic’s O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization).
Despite the poor performance at higher ISO speeds, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 is a fantastic compact camera that’s equally at home in point-and-shoot mode, or a more creative shooting mode.

Weak image quality made the above disappointments difficult to ignore, as well. So while I had a good time with the Panasonic FX35, I think there are better choices on the market.

The LZ10 certainly differs from other models in the Panasonic catalog as well as what other manufacturers are offering this year. It’s particularly well suited for those photographers who want a small camera that will let them take control of exposure and allow them to be more creative.

If you’re after a quality compact, the FX500 will fit the bill, although it’s not got what it takes to turn the heads of real enthusiasts from models like the Canon G9.

On the plus side, this camera has the rare ability to record HD-quality (1,280-by-720) movies at 30 or 15 frames per second. Video quality is good, too: At an aspect ratio of 16:9, there was little blurriness or shake, and playback was smooth.
