Lensbaby 5.8mm f3.5 Circular Fisheye Lens

Previously released for Canon and Nikon APS-C mounts, the Lensbaby 5.8mm f/3.5 Circular Fisheye lens is now available in several more mounts.

New mount options include Micro Four Thirds, Sony E, Pentax K, Samsung NX and Sony A mounts. The lens retails for $299.95. Check it out here at B&H Photo.

Pentax HD DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6ED DC WR Lens Unveiled

Pentax DA 16-85mm WR Lens

Ricoh has announced the new Pentax HD DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6ED DC WR lens for Pentax K-mount DSLRs.

It is a weather-sealed lens with 11 seals. The lens consists of 16 optical elements in 12 groups and features an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) optical element to effectively compensate for chromatic aberrations, and aspherical optical elements to minimize color bleeding.

The Pentax HD DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6ED DC WR retails for $749.95 and should be available in November 2014. Check it out here at B&H Photo.

Pentax K-3 Prestige Edition In Stock

Pentax 645Z Firmware Update Ver. 1.10

Pentax K-S1 Mid-Level DSLR Announced

The Pentax K-S1 is a new mid-range DLSR built around several of the solid technologies inside the Pentax K-3. In a world seemingly dominated by the resurgence of the retro design, Pentax has gone the opposite way with a modern design and a user interface that is designed with the mobile generation in mind.

The K-S1 features a 20MP APS-C sensor with a sensitivity range up to ISO 51,200. Additionally, the camera sports sensor-based shake reduction and 5.4 frames per second. [Read more…]

Pentax K-3 Firmware Update ver. 1.11

Ricoh has released a firmware update for the Pentax K-3. Firmware version 1.11 provides the following updates:

  • Corrected – When shooting image after using the Built-in flash, Exif data of shutter speed is not updated on Version 1.10.
  • Added automatic reset function when detecting rarely occur abnormal motion of the sequence.
    (When automatic reset function is operated, latest setting will be reset)

Pentax K-S1 Leaks Out

These are freshly leaked images of the upcoming Pentax K-S1. There are no rumored or leaked specifications for the camera yet; however, it appears to be an entry-level camera with a compact body and APS-C sensor.

It has some colorful lights on the grip, along with an interesting placement of the mode dial on the rear and another bright light highlighting the center button of the mode dial. [Read more…]
