Pentax Q10 Officially Unveiled Along with New 15-45mm Lens and K-Mount Adapter

September 10, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Pentax Q10

The Pentax Q10 is a new Q-system mirrorless camera sporting a 12.4MP sensor and 1080p HD video capture.  The Q10 retails for $599.95 with a kit lens and should be available in October.  You can find the new Q10 here at B&H Photo.

Pentax Q10 Key Features

  • 12.4MP sensor
  • 1080/30p H.264 video
  • Sensor-based Shake Reduction
  • ISO 100-6400
  • 3-inch LCD
  • Built-in HDR

Along with the Q10, Pentax also announced a new 15-45mm f/2.8 lens, which covers an effective focal length on Q-system cameras of 83-249mm.  The new 15-45mm f/2.8 lens will be available in October for $299.95.  You can find the new Q-system lens here at B&H Photo.

Finally, Pentax unveiled a K-mount adapter for the Q system that allows you to use Pentax K-mount lenses on the tiny Q system cameras.  The 5.5x crop factor on the Pentax Q system means that using the new adapter with the Pentax 300mm f/4 ED[IF] SDM lens will yield an effective focal length of 1650mm on the Pentax Q10.

The new Pentax Adapter Q will be available later this year for $249.95.  You can pre-order the Adapter Q here at B&H Photo.
