Pentax K20D Review at Camera Labs

May 31, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Pentax K20D

Camera Labs has posted a full review of the Pentax K20D.

It really does capture a great deal of detail and unlike Sony’s 14 Megapixel sensor and processing engine, this detail remains at higher sensitivities.

Canon Rebel XSi Review at Photography Blog

May 29, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Canon Rebel XSiPhotographyBLOG has posted a full review of the new 12.2 megapixel Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi. The new Digital Rebel XSi kit comes with an stabilized 18-55mm lens. Canon’s entry-level DSLR now features a 3? rear LCD panel that’s capable of Live View framing and focusing.

Image quality is on a par with the EOS 400D, with noise-free images up to ISO 800 and a very usable fastest speed of 1600, so usable that I don’t understand why the EOS 450D doesn’t also offer ISO 3200.

Olympus E-420 Review at Camera Labs

May 28, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Camera Labs has posted a review of the new Olympus E-420 entry-level DSLR.

Indeed while being perfectly suitable as a primary DSLR, the E-420 and pancake lens will equally appeal to those with larger DSLRs looking for a secondary, smaller option – even if they use a different brand. These people may have been considering enthusiasts compacts like the Canon G9 or Sigma DP1, but by going only a little larger they could enjoy a fully-fledged DSLR with the power and flexibility that brings.

Sigma DP1 Review at Trusted Reviews

May 28, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Trusted Reviews has posted a full review of the Sigma DP1.

There are other cameras with similar handling, but the sensor size is sure to appeal to a certain type of photographer. Whilst it has certain charms, it’s by no means perfect and minor adjustments to the design of the camera would make it more usable, while Sigma also needs to look at the flash and fix those problems for any subsequent models.

Sony Alpha A350 Review at DC Resource

May 26, 2008 By Eric Reagan

DC Resource has posted a review of the new 14.2 megapixel Sony A350.

Camera performance was excellent in most areas. The DSLR-A350 is ready to start taking pictures as soon as you flip the power switch. The camera focuses very quickly, except in low light, where things were a little sluggish. Shutter lag wasn’t an issue (even when using live view), and shot-to-shot delays were minimal.

Canon Rebel XSi Review at DP Review

May 24, 2008 By Eric Reagan

DP Review has posted a full and thorough review of the new 12.2 megapixel Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi. he new Digital Rebel XSi kit comes with an stabilized 18-55mm lens. Canon’s entry-level DSLR now features a 3? rear LCD panel that’s capable of Live View framing and focusing.

The EOS 450D feels like a mature product, it is capable of superb results (even if it’s actually now good enough to reveal the limitations of the cheaper EF-S lenses) and it has a feature set that offers an excellent balance between beginner-friendly ease of use and the manual control / customization demanded by those wanting something a little more serious.

Nikon D60 Review at PopPhoto

May 21, 2008 By Eric Reagan

PopPhoto has reviewed the new 10.1 megapixel Nikon D60.

With an Excellent rating on JPEGs from ISO 100 to 1600, the D60’s image quality tested slightly better than the D40x’s. That’s impressive, since the D40x also had Excellent image quality up to ISO 1600.

Nikon Coolpix P60 Review at ePhotozine

May 21, 2008 By Eric Reagan

ePhotozine has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix P60.  The P60 is an 8 megapixel point & shoot camera with a 5x optical zoom (equivalent to 36mm-180mm on a 35mm format camera).  The P60 also features image shift Vibration Reduction (VR) and sensitivity range of ISO 80-2000.

For a couple of hundred pounds, this isn’t a bad camera. Better performances can be attained with other cameras, but you’ll more than likely have to pay more.

Olympus E-420 Review at Photexels

May 20, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Photexels has posted a review of the new Olympus E-420.

The Olympus EVOLT E-420 is a good choice if you are thinking of upgrading from your point-and-shoot digicam. It is compact and light and comes closest to working like a P&S: its Live View pretty much works like on your P&S digicam; and, it has AUTO mode, plus easy-to-use Scene Modes, that make it point-and-shoot easy to capture great photos.
