Sony A350 Review at Let’s Go Digital

April 23, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Let’s Go Digital has posted a review of the 14.2 megapixel, live view Sony A350 DSLR.

My first impression of the Sony A350 is an excellent one. It is a pleasant camera, quite well-organized and beautifully designed. On top of that it is a solid camera and with the abundance of accessories in the back of my mind, it is also a camera that could be the start of a long relationship with Sony.

If you are looking for a travel or walkaround camera that is quick enough for the occasional spontaneous street shot and can also produce great quality HD video you should definitely have a closer look at the TZ5.

Sony W170 Review at Imaging Resource

April 23, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Imaging Resource has posted a review of the Sony W170.

Despite all the fancy features and the attractive body, what makes the W170 a Dave’s Pick is its image quality. Don’t take a loupe to these 10.1-megapixel images, but print them and you’ll see what we mean. Good color and detail at large print sizes.

Sony DSC-W130 Review at Imaging Resource

April 22, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Imaging Resource has posted a review of the Sony DSC-W130.

It has a great selection of useful preset modes and creative shooting tools, and most impressive, it combines its Face Detection technology with a smile detector for an extremely useful Smile Shutter mode, giving you in-focus images of wiggly kids or small groups of people, without resorting to a continuous shooting mode.

Nikon D300 Review at Digital Camera Info

April 22, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the Nikon D300.

The autofocus system is straight off the pro Nikon D3 and is amazing. It has 51 points and is the fastest we’ve seen. The Nikon D300 is well suited for sports shooting with its 6 to 8 fps Burst mode (depending on whether the battery grip is attached), and quick predictive autofocus tracking.

Nikon D60 Review at Steve’s Digicams

April 21, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Steve’s Digicams has posted a review of the Nikon D60.

The new Nikon D60 is quite impressive for an entry-level dSLR, offering superb performance, great image quality, and multiple exposure options. The 3fps continuous drive mode (or 3.5fps in our testing), Sensor Cleaning system and onboard HELP Menu are distinct improvements for this soon to be popular camera.

Nikon D3 Review at DP Review

April 19, 2008 By Eric Reagan

DP Review has finally posted a full review of the Nikon D3.  It received a “Highly Recommended” badged and earned significant praise for it’s high quality and level of performance.

From the almost twitchy responsiveness (brush the shutter and before you know it you’ve taken half a dozen shots) to the astounding image pipeline that can pull huge amounts of data off the sensor and process, buffer and write it to the card at up to 9 frames per second, to the fast, accurate focus, the D3 always seems to be one step ahead of you.

The Ricoh R8 is an expensive camera, but it does offer a unique specification and very distinctive style. Build quality is superb, and the design of the body and control interface makes it a real pleasure to use.

Nikon Coolpix L15 Review at Imaging Resource

April 16, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Nikon L15

Imaging Resource recently posted a review of the Nikon L15.

Overall, the Nikon Coolpix L15 performed well in terms of exposure and color accuracy outdoors. However, detail definition and noise performance were disappointing when the camera needed to raise the ISO setting. Under brighter conditions, the Nikon L15 captured much better detail. You’ll get the best results when shooting in good lighting, but expect higher noise and noise suppression when shooting at lower light levels without the flash.
