This year, Tamron is holding four photo contests centered around the Dusk till Dawn theme. Today, Tamron announced the first contest with entries due March 31, 2010, which gives contestants the chance to win their choice of one of the following four lenses:

Tamron recently started a new video learning series on YouTube. The series will be comprised of 1-minute videos geared toward new DSLR owners (like the above intro video) and will be added on a weekly basis to Tamron’s YouTube channel.

The Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC LD Aspherical [IF] is made exclusively for Nikon-mount DSLRs with an internal focusing motor. This lens is equivalent to an 26-78mm angle of view on a full frame camera.
The Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens will be available in September 2009 at an initial price of approximately $650. Check availability on Amazon.com.

In the near to far category, Tamron has upped the ante with a 15x zoom for Canon and Nikon DSLR with the new 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens. This superzoom from Tamron also features vibration compensation, which will surely be needed when taking into account the tele end of the zoom, which is equivalent to 419mm on a 35mm camera. Tamron has not provided us with a price or availability date yet.

As with the Tamron 10-24mm the 90mm f/2.8 Macro has been updated to include a built-in motor for the Nikon mount in order to accommodate the Nikon D40, D40x and D60, which do not have an AF motor in the body of the camera.

Tamron has updated its 10-24mm wide angle lens to include a built-in focusing motor to accommodate the Nikon D40, D40x and D60 cameras, which do not have a focusing motor in the body of the camera.

Tamron has added Pentax and Sony to the stable of compatible DSLRs for its 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. The lens will be available later this month in Japan initially. The lens carries a street price of about $700 for the existing Canon and Nikon mounts.
