Zacuto Z-Finder for Panasonic GH3 Released

Zacuto Z-Finder GH3

Zacuto has a new Z-Finder Pro designed for the Panasonic GH3 thanks to a GH3-specific Gorilla Plate that attaches to the bottom of the camera.

The GH-3 Z-Finder Pro has a 2.5x magnification and diopter for fine-tuning focus. If you already have a Z-Finder Pro or Jr., you can just pick up a Gorilla Plate and frame for the GH3.

The Z-Finder Pro for the GH3 retails for $395. The GH3 frame and plate kit runs $129. More details on Zacuto’s website.

Adorama Unveils Flashpoint Swivi HDSLR 3x Finder

Adorama has launched a new HDSLR viewfinder under its in-house Flashpoint brand. The Flashpoint Swivi offers 3x magnification for LCDs on HDSLRs. Essentially, this is a similar design to the popular Zacuto Z-Finder – albeit targeted at a more entry-level audience. [Read more…]

Zacuto Z-Finder Frame for Canon 5D3 and Nikon D800

Zacuto Z-Finder Frame

Zacuto now has a new Z-Finder frame that works with the Canon 5D Mark III and Nikon D800.  The new frame is compatible with all current Z-Finders, so the new cameras won’t require an entirely new finder.

The new Z-Finder frame retails for $60 and is available at the Zacuto Store and B&H Photo.

Zacuto Z-Finder Review

If you’ve got any interest in using a DSLR as a serious video camera, chances are that you’ve heard of the Zacuto Z-Finder.  As I have been learning the ropes of shooting video on the 5D Mark II, I’ve found the Z-Finder to be an indispensable piece of equipment for mobile operation of the camera.
