New ‘Act of Valor’ Trailer Polishes the 5D’s Resume

I just talked about ‘Like Crazy’ a couple of days ago, which was shot on the Canon 7D and is out in theaters now.  And now, Relativity Media, which picked up ‘Act of Valor‘ for a cool $13M earlier this year, just released the second trailer for the film.  As you may already know, Act of Valor was shot primarily with the Canon 5D Mark II and a combination of Zeiss and Panavision lenses – with Shane Hurlbut, ASC serving as DP on the film.

Norman Studio and Portable Lights and Packs Overview

Norman makes pro lights for both studio and portable use.  The D12 and D24 are the studio packs, which offer 1200w/s and 2400w/s, respectively.  Additionally, the D12 and D24 feature built-in PocketWizard receivers.  The portable kits from Norman come in 200w/s and 400w/s flavors. [Read more…]

Nikon Coolpix P7100 Review

The Nikon P7100 is the latest prosumer compact in the Coolpix lineup.  When I reviewed the Nikon P7000 earlier this year, my biggest complaint was the speed of the camera in terms of shot-to-shot raw image capture and navigation of the menu system.  Nikon has clearly addressed those concerns in the P7100 model, allowing the camera to compete on level ground with Canon’s G12 and other prosumer compact cameras.
