Nikon DSLR Rebates Extended

Nikon has extended its DSLR and lens instant rebates through April 30 with a couple of modifications.  The high-end pro DSLRs are out, but the new stuff like the D7000 and D3100 are still part of the program.

New Album Templates from Red Boot Design

The newest templates from Kubota Image Tool’s sister company, Red Boot Design, “give photographers new ways to easily provide amazing-looking deliverables.”  Rounded White is a fresh spin on the popular classic white template, and the Gallery Wrap set includes 5 templates available through White House Custom Colour, all with the same clean and fresh look that makes it an appropriate choice for many occasions.

Nikon D3s Survives Drop From Motorcycle, Keeps on Shooting

A photojournalist from Malaysia National News Agency was covering a cycling race from the back of a motorcycle when he dropped his Nikon D3s. The camera was then ploughed over by the race marshal’s vehicle. When he recovered the camera and applied some duct tape to the battery cover, he finished shooting the race with it. New Canon Lenses Availiability Postponed

Canon has released a statement in which it apologizes for the postponement of recently announced lenses.  The EF 8-15mm f/4L, EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II, and EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II were all scheduled to be released in March 2011.

However, the recent earthquake in Japan caused damage to its manufacturing plants and, as a result, the availability of these lenses is currently unknown.  Canon stated that it will provide an update on the availability of these lenses once that date becomes clear.  Note that B&H Photo has listed an approximate availability date of May for the 8-15mm and 400mm lenses (see above links).
