DxO Mark has published its review of the new Canon 7D Mark II, including an in-depth look at the sensor performance. Notably, DxO Mark says the 7D Mark II’s sensor lags behind competitors in low ISO performance. DxO still considers the Sony A77 II a better choice for overall image quality.
That’s quite disappointing to hear and I’m sure that Canon is not happy about the report; however, my eyes tell me the quality it better than the numbers let on based on the sample images that I have seen thus far. Based on DxO’s results, the 7D Mark II is only nominally better than the Canon 70D, which was still only a small step up from the image quality of the 60D.

It’s been said many times before but DxO”s methodology is fatally flawed.
Believe what your eyes tell you looking at real world images!
BTW I’m not a Canon user so I’ve no axe to grind in repect of the 7DII.
Best reviews are those I do in detail with cameras that I´m thinking to buy! Much more important than camera is Man or Woman who stays behind her! I,ve already personaly tested 7D MkII. Verdict: EXCELENT CAMERA! Already bought, yesterday. Anyway, thanks for “your” review.
I bought mine Saturday nov 1st and so far I am very impressed compared to my 7D. High ISO is really impressive and image quality I think is excellent!
Have always taken dxo ratings with a grain of salt as my real world experiences often seem contrary to their tests. Maybe they need to test cameras /lenses as a complete system, not as individual components?
