Nikon Coolpix S9400/S9500 Firmware Update Ver. 1.1

Nikon has issued a firmware update for the Coolpix S9400 and S9500. The firmware version 1.1 for both models resolves a problem with the audio and video sync while recording videos.

DaVinci Resolve 11 Beta Now Available

DaVinci Resolve 11 Along with several new updates for its cinema cameras, Blackmagic Design has announced the public release of DaVinci Resolve 11.0 Beta. I’ve been pretty excited about this release for a couple months now. If you want to know more about why, read this.

The redesigned Resolve 11 is a major upgrade with a full-fledged NLE built-in. Resolve 11 Lite is a free download for everyone. The full version runs $995 and includes the ability to have multiple users working in the same project on the same timeline at once, along with other advanced features.

Blackmagic Camera Update 1.8

Back in April during NAB, we got an update on the development of firmware for Blackmagic Design’s cameras. Specific concerns had been raised about whether or not Blackmagic would continue to support the original Cinema Camera since the company was putting out several new cameras.

Today, Blackmagic made good on its promises and addressed the four big issues that we were told sat at the top of the development list, and then delivered several more updates. Blackmagic has written completely new code for all of its Cinema Cameras and built the user interface around the Blackmagic URSA we saw unveiled at NAB 2014.

Red Giant has updated its Universe plug-in suite with 9 new effects, as well as updates to existing products. If you aren’t familiar with the suite, Red Giant Universe is a new subscription-based (but you can also purchase a lifetime license) plug-in for video editing applications.
