After yesterday’s word of a Canon press event on March 22, more detailed rumors now point to the smaller Canon DSLR being the EOS 100D.
According to the sources, two Canon EOS cameras will land next week on March 21/22 with one being this EOS 100D and no specific word on the other except that it won’t be the Canon 70D. Perhaps the other will be the next iteration of the EOS M?

Canon has been rumored to be developing a new DSLR line that offers and even smaller body than the current Rebel series. Whether they will continue using the “Rebel” name for this smaller DSLR series is an unknown. Rumored specs for the new camera include the same APS-C 18MP sensor as found in the Canon Rebel T4i and EOS M (it’s really a great sensor with solid image quality coming out of it).

Adorama has launched a new HDSLR viewfinder under its in-house Flashpoint brand. The Flashpoint Swivi offers 3x magnification for LCDs on HDSLRs. Essentially, this is a similar design to the popular Zacuto Z-Finder – albeit targeted at a more entry-level audience. [Read more…]

Recent rumors point to the possibility of a firmware update for the full frame Canon 6D. As the junior full frame shooter in Canon’s line-up, the 6D offers a lot of camera for a relatively affordable price point (it’s under $1800 at the moment).
However, there are plenty of things that users looking to move up to full frame are missing – such as the headphone jack found in the 5D Mark III and the ability to autofocus at f/8. [Read more…]

FxFactory PRO v4 is a plug-in for popular NLE editors like Final Cut Pro X, FCP 7 and Premiere Pro CS6. I have been using FxFactory PRO v4 for a few months now in both FCP X and Premier Pro CS6. While it also works in After Effects and Motion, my use has been limited to NLEs.
FxFactory PRO v4 uses the FxFactory plug-in manager for installation and updates. I have used several plug-ins with FxFactory and find it to be one of the easiest installation processes to use with NLE plug-ins. [Read more…]
